Quantity Surveyor

The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the delivery of construction and civil engineering projects across a varied portfolio.
The role will involve managing subcontractor packages, valuations, variations and project costs while working closely with Contracts Managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and commercially.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and appoint subcontractors across live projects.
- Manage subcontractor packages from appointment through to final account.
- Prepare and submit valuations and variations.
- Monitor project costs and commercial performance.
- Carry out site visits to review completed works, quality and associated costs.
- Build strong working relationships with Contracts Managers and site teams.
- Support the commercial delivery of projects from start through to completion.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company systems, procedures and Information Management requirements.
- Assist with any additional commercial duties required to support successful project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role.
- Good working knowledge of construction contracts including JCT, NEC and PWC.
- Experience managing subcontractor packages.
- Strong understanding of valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Able to prioritise workload and work independently to deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Full valid driving licence.
