Project Manager – Water Infrastructure

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of key water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Greater Dublin Area and surrounding counties.

This is a permanent position working on contracts for Irish Water and other key utility clients. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects across both urban and rural environments.

The Role

  • Manage multiple water and wastewater projects from planning through to completion.
  • Act as the main point of contact across live projects.
  • Oversee sewer and water connections across Dublin and surrounding counties.
  • Manage projects with a strong commercial focus, including cost-to-complete values and claims narratives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, client representatives and third-party stakeholders.
  • Review, prepare and coordinate detailed construction drawings.
  • Support value engineering and efficient project design.
  • Review design briefs and assist with the preparation of design packs from concept through to detailed design.
  • Coordinate environmental, archaeological and other relevant project requirements.
  • Prepare regular project status reports and communicate required actions across the business.
  • Lead and manage existing project teams, providing clear direction and motivation.
  • Review construction practicalities for complex water and wastewater design works.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors, clients and external stakeholders.
  • Support the development of team structures, internal processes and new supply-chain relationships.
  • Manage SI works and associated project activities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Requirements

  • Strong experience delivering water and wastewater civil engineering projects.
  • Experience managing both potable water and foul sewer connections.
  • Good knowledge of UK or Irish Water Standards – Potable & Foul is essential.
  • Previous experience managing projects in urban environments would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to understand project costs and claims.
  • Ability to read, review and contribute to detailed construction drawings.
  • Experience coordinating design, construction and project stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Relevant civil engineering, construction or project-management qualification desirable.
  • Full clean driving licence essential.
