M&E / MEP Manager
Location: Various project locations across Northern Ireland & Great Britain
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: £35,000–£65,000 DOE
Travel: Approximately 3 days per week to GB, typically Tuesday–Thursday
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced M&E / MEP Manager to support the delivery of mechanical and electrical packages across a range of construction and fit-out projects.
The company is open-minded on level and will consider both an ambitious M&E professional looking to step up into greater responsibility, or an experienced M&E / MEP Manager with a strong track record of delivering projects.
You will act as the M&E lead across several projects, working closely with Project Managers, clients, consultants, designers, subcontractors and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the M&E / MEP lead across assigned construction and fit-out projects.
- Manage mechanical and electrical elements across live projects and tenders.
- Support Project Managers with all M&E requirements.
- Coordinate M&E design development with designers, consultants and project teams.
- Review designs and identify technical, buildability and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure M&E design, procurement, installation and commissioning activities are incorporated into the overall programme.
- Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical subcontractors.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
- Work closely with procurement teams on materials and specialist packages.
- Support testing, commissioning and final handover.
- Provide input into O&M manuals and handover documentation.
- Communicate project progress, variations, programme changes and potential issues to commercial and operational teams.
- Produce regular project updates and reports for Senior Management.
- Identify issues early and develop practical solutions with the wider project team.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant Health & Safety, quality and compliance requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant experience within M&E / MEP, Building Services, Construction or Fit-Out.
- Experience coordinating or managing mechanical and/or electrical packages.
- Good understanding of construction practices and the interaction between M&E services and other trades.
- Ability to review M&E designs and identify coordination, buildability and cost issues.
- Experience managing specialist subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction Health & Safety requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
- Willingness to travel to GB approximately 3 days per week.
Experience Level
The client is flexible on seniority and will consider:
- An M&E professional with a few years’ relevant experience who is ready to progress into a larger management role.
- An established M&E / MEP Manager with significant project-delivery experience.
The level of responsibility and salary will be tailored to the successful candidate’s experience.
