Ballymoney | Projects exclusively across Northern Ireland
Industry: Mechanical Building Services

Want to manage mechanical contracts while keeping your project travel within Northern Ireland?

An established mechanical contractor is looking for a Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee projects across healthcare, education, commercial, leisure and industrial sectors.

Three Reasons to Apply:

  • £50,000–£70,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Exclusively Northern Ireland projects, keeping your work closer to home.
  • An experienced, longstanding team, within a contractor delivering mechanical building services for around 50 years.

The job in a nutshell:

You’ll bring together the people, materials and planning needed to deliver mechanical installations safely, profitably and on programme.

From coordinating site teams to managing costs and keeping clients informed, you’ll be the person making sure each contract moves smoothly through to handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing mechanical contracts from pre-start planning through installation, commissioning and completion.
  • Planning labour, materials and equipment around project milestones.
  • Coordinating supervisors, site teams and specialist subcontractors.
  • Reviewing mechanical drawings and specifications, resolving technical queries early.
  • Managing procurement and monitoring supplier lead times.
  • Tracking costs, identifying variations and working with the commercial team to protect margins.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and main contractors at progress meetings.
  • Overseeing quality, health and safety, testing, snagging and handover documentation.

Should you apply?

You could be an established Mechanical Contracts Manager, or an experienced Mechanical Project Manager ready for broader responsibility.

You’ll need:

  • A strong background delivering mechanical building services projects.
  • Technical knowledge of heating, plumbing, ventilation and associated systems.
  • Experience managing site labour, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Confidence reading mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Commercial awareness covering costs, procurement and variations.
  • A relevant mechanical trade background and/or building services or mechanical engineering qualification.

Experience managing multiple contracts or delivering healthcare, education and other complex projects would be particularly valuable.

You should be able to attend the Ballymoney office regularly and travel to sites across Northern Ireland. Ideally, you’ll live within approximately 30 miles of Ballymoney.

What’s in it for you?

  • £50,000–£70,000 DOE.
  • Northern Ireland-only project coverage.
  • Varied work across specialist and commercial environments.
  • Ownership of contracts from planning to handover.
  • An experienced team with strong staff retention.
  • The opportunity to join a business with a longstanding focus on workmanship and developing its people.
