Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will support the development, optimisation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for aerospace components. This role will focus on improving efficiency, quality, and productivity while supporting new product introduction, process development, tooling design, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production methods.
- Lead continuous improvement activities to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process changes, and manufacturing cell layouts.
- Create and maintain BOMs, technical instructions, procedures, and change control documentation.
- Provide technical support to Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
- Investigate manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving techniques (3C, 8D, RCA).
- Identify and implement automation, process, and technical improvements.
Essential Requirements
- HNC/HND (Level 3+) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Manufacturing Engineering experience within engineering, aerospace, or a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience with process improvement, tooling design, and manufacturing support.
Desirable
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Experience with anodising, bonding, painting, assembly, or automated manufacturing processes.
- CAD and ERP system experience.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, SPC, VSM, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Automation, robotics, or robotic programming experience.
