Maintenance Fitter

Role: Maintenance Fitter
Location: Carrickfergus
Hours: 38 hours, dayshift during training; rotating shifts thereafter
Pay: £16.97 per hour / £33,532.72 per annum, excluding shift premium

We're working with a manufacturing business in Carrickfergus to recruit a Maintenance Fitter to join their die maintenance team.

The Benefits:

• 22% shift premium for 8-hour rotating shifts
• 36% shift premium for 24/6 or 24/7 rotating 12-hour shifts
• Initial dayshift training, generally 6–12 months depending on progress

The Role:

You'll strip, service and assemble dies, change components, work to fine tolerances, complete paperwork, carry out TIG and stick welding and cover die breakdowns in casting machines. After training, you’ll join the department’s current shift pattern: 24/6, 24/7 or three-shift rotation.

The Requirements:

• Time-served mechanical maintenance background; NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Welding experience.
• Basic computer skills, teamwork, communication, initiative and shift flexibility
