The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Specialist Joinery Estimator to join their commercial team on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for estimating and tendering across a range of bespoke joinery, specialist fit-out and interior projects, ensuring tenders are accurate, competitive and commercially sound.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with a background in joinery estimating, bespoke interiors or fit-out who wants to join an established specialist contractor with a varied project pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Prepare detailed analytical estimates for bespoke joinery projects.
- Complete labour, material and subcontractor take-offs.
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare and manage tender submissions.
- Agree project overheads and pricing requirements.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions and commercial risks.
- Support value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain and update pricing information and tender records.
- Track tender results and performance.
- Assist with subcontractor and labour-only appointments where required.
- Provide cost feedback from completed projects to improve future tender accuracy.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous estimating experience within specialist joinery, bespoke joinery, fit-out or high-end interiors.
- Strong understanding of joinery materials, manufacturing processes and finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed construction and manufacturing drawings.
- Good knowledge of labour, material and subcontractor pricing.
- Strong commercial and numerical skills.
- Good negotiation and communication abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Willingness to travel when required.
