Estimator – Aluminium Glazing & Façade Systems
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated QS / Estimator to join a well-established and growing specialist contractor within the aluminium glazing sector.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the commercial and client-facing aspects of construction, combining estimating, quantity surveying and business development responsibilities within a progressive family-run business.
You will play a key role in managing the tendering process from enquiry through to award while helping to drive growth across a range of aluminium curtain walling, window, door and façade projects.
The Role
As QS / Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing technical specifications, managing commercial information and supporting project delivery from tender stage through to handover.
Working closely with clients, suppliers, architects, contractors and internal teams, you will contribute directly to the company's continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for aluminium curtain walling, windows and door systems
• Review architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and project proposals
• Utilise Logikal software to prepare accurate quotations and estimates
• Manage the full tender process from enquiry through to submission
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth project delivery
• Assist with procurement activities including raising and issuing Purchase Orders
• Produce and manage project budgets and cost plans
• Support the management of variations and commercial change control
• Maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities
• Manage and develop your own sales pipeline
• Support successful project handovers to operational teams
What We're Looking For
• Experience within estimating, quantity surveying or commercial construction roles
• Experience within aluminium glazing, curtain walling, windows, doors or façade systems desirable
• Strong working knowledge of Logikal and Microsoft Office
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Understanding of fabrication, manufacturing and installation processes
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Commercially minded with strong numerical and analytical abilities
• Experience using CAD software would be advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
• Proactive approach to sales, client engagement and business development
