Design Project Manager (Water/Wastewater)

I'm currently working with a leading utilities and infrastructure contractor who is looking to recruit an experienced Design Project Manager to join their expanding Water & Wastewater division.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering major water infrastructure projects across Ireland, managing the design process from concept through to construction handover while working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.
The Role
As the Design Project Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the design and coordination of a wide range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring designs are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client and regulatory requirements.
Projects will include:
- Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants
- Pipelines
- Pumping Stations
- Reservoirs
- Water Infrastructure Networks
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design process for water infrastructure projects from concept through to construction.
- Coordinate internal and external design teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare, review and approve technical drawings, designs and project documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with Irish Water/Uisce Éireann standards and relevant regulations.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Teams, Consultants and Subcontractors throughout project delivery.
- Carry out design reviews and risk assessments, ensuring all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met.
- Manage project design programmes, budgets and deliverables.
- Support tender submissions by providing technical design input and documentation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, local authorities and key stakeholders.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' experience within water or wastewater infrastructure design.
- Proven experience delivering projects to Irish Water/Uisce Éireann standards or similar utility specifications.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D or equivalent design software.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and multiple design packages simultaneously.
